Southern Hospitality at Its Finest! We had an incredible dining experience at The Southern Steak & Oyster in Nashville! The atmosphere was vibrant and welcoming—perfect for a night out in Music City. Our server, Sam, was outstanding: friendly, knowledgeable, and made sure everything was just right. The highlight of the meal? The Southern Burger. Made with Bear Creek Beef and topped with lettuce, tomato, jalapeños, bacon, pimento cheese, and crispy fried onions—it was a flavor-packed masterpiece. The sweet potato fries on the side were golden and addictive. If you’re visiting Nashville and want a true taste of Southern flair with top-notch service, this spot is a must. Ask for Sam—you’ll be glad you did!
Came here specifically for the $1 oyster happy hour (3-6). Service was absolutely amazing & the oysters were phenomenal. Thank you so much to the hilarious oyster shucking Sheryl!!! She made my day with her jokes lol. Even gave me some shucking tips to try at home . Will be back with friends for sure!! (gumbo was also very good)
This restaurant had been on our radar for three years, and we finally made it here for a birthday meal—it was absolutely worth the wait! We loved all our food and were very satisfied with the portions. The half-rib meal, in particular, was perfectly filling and definitely enough on its own, so we shouldn't have ordered a gumbo side dish. If you go, be mindful that the main portions are generous! Highly recommend for a special occasion.
This was an amazing meal. Came here with some coworkers and we shared several appetizers. The oysters were amazing. This shrimp appetizer is so delicious. I ate so many brussel sprouts that I was almost too full to eat my entree.The free biscuits were a great surprise and the drinks were strong and tasty. Even though we had a large group, the food came out very fast and everything came out, correct.

I started with the crab cakes and was thrilled to find out they were *dairy-free*—and still packed with flavor. Perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and no cream needed. I also had a black cherry cocktail that was dangerously good—sweet, rich, and just strong enough to let you know it's the real deal. We shared a dozen oysters with four different flavor profiles, and every single one was outstanding. Easily the best oysters we've ever had—fresh, briny, and dressed just right. The roasted brussel sprouts deserve their own shoutout—caramelized, a little crispy, and seasoned so well we were fighting over the last few bites. And then there was the full rack of ribs... I barely had to touch them with a fork and the meat fell right off the bone. So tender, so juicy. Total showstopper. Everything we ordered hit the mark. Great service, cozy atmosphere, and food worth coming back for. Add this to your must-try list—you won't regret it.
Absolutely amazing food! Oysters were to die for! Great food and great atmosphere! Only complaint is they should have been transparent that the AC was out. It made for a very hot meal. Still 5 stars tho! Will be back! We also loved the house hot sauce!
